Oh Mucinex, how you tame thy mucous, and provide thee with a fun word to utter... twice in one week... on two different occasions!
With the commencement of my "Family Friendly" play performances, this past weekend, also began the first steps of my journey of a panic stricken weekend of stage parents and copious amounts of anti-bac. The day of the first scheduled performance, our lead-7 year old Kelsey, came down with a fever, and we rode that wild boar flu fear every last tireless moment of the weekend. In the midst of the episode, 11 year old Ava, approached me, at a very close distance, sharing that she had to "take her "Mucinex" this morning." (I guess in one's own blog, one can put quotes inside of quotes if one so desires!) "Mucinex", I thought, a big word for a little girl, is this for routine mucous flare-ups, or was she too, sick?
So then today, I spent time with my friend, who when I arrived at her house, was laying on the couch, and proceeded to hack up every last bit of air and mucous in her throat and began slowly ejecting it into her hand, where I decided maybe I should step in and get her some paper product, and a.......um, tootsie-pop? Cuz' that's all I could find that would substitute as a lozenge of sorts, which it did famously! Thank goodness for Halloween. Then, our other friend, Maggie made a pharmacy stop and returned with dear old Mucinex! It's such a spritely word, let's say it aloud together for fun: Muuuucccccciiiiiinnnnneeexxx!
